Albemarle Street
Transforming a former commercial building into four outstanding lateral apartments and a spectacular penthouse
We understood the potential that other purchasers hadn't seen – the opportunity to convert this substantial Beaux Arts-fronted office property to residential use.
Eric Parry Architects were appointed to deliver on the architectural vision and Studio Mackereth to create the interiors.
In April 2011, planning permission for change of use and increased floor area was obtained. Due to its location, agreements had to be made with the ground floor restaurant to relocate various items of plant and run services through their demise, and rights of light compensation negotiated with six building owners and sub-tenants.
In keeping with its prime London location, a specialist residential managing agent was appointed to provide full concierge services.
We carefully chose partners to market and sell the property, working closely with a branding agency to produce appropriate literature and photography, and appointing a residential sales agent who understood the nuances not only of the Mayfair market, but our vision for the building.
“The Mellier has significantly changed expectations within the prime London residential market"
